Local love

As curators, we discover under-the-radar and established local culinary talent whose goods we love and whose mission we admire.

Sharing all that goodness with you is what partnership is all about.

ASSORTED PASTRIES NOW AVAILABLE @ ROAST

Couples who own businesses together don’t agree on everything. But when we do, it’s magic.

June’s Daytime, a new eatery in the Great Neck area, is the co-creation of Clint Compton and Lily Sutch Clayman. Their focus on freshly baked pastries, breakfast and lunch classics with a quirky twist, and pure ingredients, sourced from farms whose practices they know and respect, gave off partnership vibes Wayne and I couldn’t ignore. No arm-twisting necessary on my part. One bite of Holly’s carrot cake muffin hooked Wayne. (It didn’t hurt when he spotted our baristas huddled at June’s, eating lunch, just one week after their grand opening.)

Let’s just say it. You can’t go wrong with Lily and Clint, equally adored and respected for their talent at Hearth and Coop Food Truck.

And what do our customers think of our new parade of pastries? Junes’ muffins, scones, brownies, blondies, and cookies don’t last past lunch most days. We’re even tempted to add June’s cruller, a risky move for us since it must be eaten within a few hours to avoid getting soggy!

But the partnership doesn't stop there. Lily's first offspring business, Drishti Compost, brought our vision for the DrishTea Garden at Roast to life. Check it out at our new location on General Booth and on our Bubblrapt blog post, coming soon.

PURE magic. Every bite. Every sip.

Kip’s not-so-secret ingredient is community and the power of partnership with fellow proprietors whose mission and product he loves and respects. His adventurous spirit inspires us to offer you something new and unexpected and collaborate on a sandwich nobody else thought of but wished they did!
